TilcaraHere is the "pucara" (fortress) famous for being the best one reconstructed of the Quebrada of Humahuaca. Tilcara can be chosen as a basis to visit the quebrada because it has a good lodging infrastructure: camping, hostels, hotels, restaurants and folkloric «peñas». It has a Church built in 1797 but inaugurated in 1865 and the museum of archaeology Dr. Eduardo Casanova, which has mommies and a collection of elements of the cultures of Peru, Tiahuanaku, etc. that are worth visiting. |
